As of April, Pennex and MEC are essentially one network.   Matt Hovanic and Matt Cordi were deeply involved in assisting MEC with the network migration.   We will see a number of new IT services available to Pennex as a product of this consolidation.   Plans for 2016 include:

  • Video conferencing
  • Improved collaboration during WebEx conferences
  • Text messaging between Pennex and MEC computers

In June 2016, the Cisco Jabber Client software will be available on our PCs.  The Jabber client allows each user to create a list for internal and external contacts.  For internal contacts you will be able to see if they are available or if they are currently in meetings.  Users can update status messages.   With a click you can call them or send them a text message.   There will be training available for all users as we roll out this software.
Leo Checo joined Pennex in May as the IT Help Desk Technician.  He is the PC/End User support for Wellsville and York.
